Working calendar
The Agenda is a list of Parliamentary business on a certain day. The Agenda for the Assembly is determined by the Presiding Committee, in accordance with the Board of Spokespersons. The Agenda for committees is determined by the Presiding Committee of the respective committee, after hearing the spokesperson of each Parliamentary group represented on the working committee.
A "sitting" is the Parliamentary time spent dealing with the Order of Business. A "meeting" is the part of the session held on the same natural day.
The Parliament of Catalonia has two Parliamentary sessions each year: from 1 September to 31 December, and from 15 January to 31 July. During these sessions, ordinary sittings of Parliament usually take place from Monday to Friday.
Parliament can also meet at any time outside these sessions in order to be able to carry out its functions at any time. This kind of meeting is called an "extraordinary sitting". Parliament holds extraordinary sittings at the request of the President of the Generalitat.
Parliamentary activity between two successive elections is called the "Legislative term".
